The Rodt’sche Palace in Meersburg at Lake Constance
Immediately in the castle square, facing the castle, in the beautifully restored baroque building of the princely bishop family of Rodt, are 14 small comfortably furnished apartments for single, double, and multiple occupancy. Conference facilities in the same building are also available. On the ground floor, there is a café/restaurant, which serves excellent refreshments. The restaurant staff gladly informs you about all current events. All points of interest in Meersburg, as well as banks, pharmacies, bakeries, specialty stores etc. can be reached comfortably by foot. The city bus and ferry are likewise within 5-minute walking distance. A special attraction is the Lake Dwelling Museum in the neighboring community Unteruhldingen that has been built out into the lake.

The Bishop Marquard Rudolf of (von) Rodt (1639-1704) had this Palais (palace) built 1700 A.D. The medieval castle, which had served the bishops of Constance, since their move to Meersburg as their main residence, no longer met the representational trends and needs of the baroque time. Shortly before his death, the bishop decided to solve this problem and to build the palace. It formed the prelude to a series of new baroque buildings in the Meersburger upper city, which still today dominates the city’s appearance and makes Meersburg a very special attraction.

The studios and suites at the Rodt’sche Palais can be rented or purchased. If you are interested investing in monument-protected property at the "Rodt'schen Palais", further INFORMATION is available under www.lkfinanz.de
